About Kids CAN
Supporting neurodivergent children, youth, young adults, and families from birth to age 30 through meaningful relationships, individualized support, and opportunities to build confidence, connection, independence, and belonging in everyday life.
Our Mission
To empower neurodivergent children, youth, young adults, and their families through individualized, strengths-based, relationship-focused support that promotes confidence, connection, independence, and meaningful participation in everyday life.
Our Vision
We envision a community where neurodivergent individuals are understood, supported, included, and empowered to live meaningful, authentic lives across home, school, work, and community settings.
Our Philosophy
At Kids CAN, we believe that meaningful growth happens through relationships, connection, and real-life experiences.
Every child, youth, and young adult has unique strengths, interests, learning styles, and developmental needs. Rather than focusing solely on challenges, we take a strengths-based, developmental approach that builds upon each individual’s abilities while supporting areas of growth.
Our work is grounded in relationship-based practice and recognizes that development does not happen in isolation, it happens at home, in school and daycare, within friendships, in recreational activities, at work, and throughout everyday experiences.
We believe that support should feel meaningful, individualized, and practical. Whether developing emotional regulation, communication, social confidence, independence, life skills, academic success, or employment readiness, our goal is to help individuals build skills that transfer naturally into daily life.
We also recognize that families are essential partners in the developmental journey. By collaborating with caregivers and community partners, we strive to create consistent, supportive environments where individuals can feel understood, supported, and successful.
Our focus is not on changing who a person is, it is on helping them feel confident, capable, connected, and successful as themselves.
How We Support Growth
Individualized support begins with understanding the whole person, building trusted relationships, and creating meaningful opportunities for participation and independence.
Relationships
Meaningful, supportive relationships create a strong foundation for learning, development, confidence, and lifelong well-being.
Development
We support communication, emotional regulation, learning, social development, and life skills through individualized experiences.
Participation
We support meaningful involvement at home, school, work, recreation, and throughout the wider community.
Independence
We help individuals build confidence, practical skills, self-advocacy, and decision-making abilities.
